If your Makeup cause “white face” effects?

Do you make up or are you a makeup artist?Anyway ,you should know more about makeup products.
One thing any makeup artist worth their brush belt will tell you is that you must avoid any products in foundation or powder that could possibly cause “white face” effects
You know what I’m talking about. Sorry, You may be a victim, too.
The culprit at large is Titanium Dioxide, which is a sunscreen that is commonly included in foundations and powders.  With that being said, I’m a little perplexed to find a rash of products emerging on the market that include Titanium Dioxide in the key ingredients. Why? So, I did a little research on this topic, and according to many beauty industry pros, the issue of Titanium Dioxide causing a distortion in skin isn’t something that is a concern with modern digital photography technology.
Still, I’m always a bit wary to recommend face products that contain Titanium Dioxide and do not have any products with this ingredient in my professional makeup kit. That second photo of Eva is a recent one that seems to have been taken with a flash. And Eva isn’t alone – there are photos of celebs with makeup snafus popping up all over the place.
I recently tested one powder having SPF 15.
It’s a fantastic powder. I’m totally impressed by the fact that the powder is milled more finely than any other powder I’ve ever used and it keeps my oily skin matte for several hours. The texture of the powder is incredible, but it does list Titanium Dioxide right up there in the key ingredients.
What about you? If you use foundations and powders that have an SPF included and therefore Titanium Dioxide, have you experienced issues with the color of your skin? This inquiring mind would love to know!
All the Components of Mineral MakeupThe mineral makeup is quite in demand today; it is made from mix ground powders of ores and oxides. TiO2 or titanium dioxide is one of the main components of mineral products. It is next to diamonds, when comparing high refractive index. That’s what gives the sheer glowing look to all mineral based makeup products. Okay, so this is proved that all the glittering and shimmering is fine, but is it safe? Yes and no.
Safe or Unsafe Is the Belying Question On Everyone’s Mind
Natural oxides and minerals like titanium, penetrate our bodies every day; through air, water and food. We do not get instantaneous death on contact, therefore, be rest assured that they are not deadly.
TiO2 oxides are mainly used as thickening agents and coloring pigments. They are used not only in paints, but also in medicines, toothpaste, mineral makeup and food coloring agents. TiO2 is gives natural sun block, just like zinc oxide. Other chemical form a layer of protection on the skin, allowing some sun rays to filter through. However, titanium dioxide fully blocks and protects the skin.
Therefore, it is used in baby sun blocks, and sunscreens for sensitive skin. It causes much less irritation on sensitive skin. Titanium dioxide reflects and absorbs the sun’s harmful UV rays. Mineral makeup powders are safe, since they coat the skin and stay on top. Being a powder, they don’t get absorbed into skin cells.
Can It Get Safer Than That?
TiO2 is a photo catalyst. It is present in different mineral forms; anatese, ruitile and brookite. The light refractive index of rutile is highest amongst all; hence, it disperses UV cosmetics advicerays effectively. Other forms absorb UV-B rays. To avoid absorption, antioxidants are used in mineral products. However, volatile reactions can happen if used in combination with strong oxidizers and acids. So safety is marred.
Mineral particles come in nano sizes. Therefore nano particles easily penetrate deep into skin pores and join the blood stream. Animal experiments in recent nanotechnology have confirmed that nano titanium dioxide particles could cause genetic and hormonal damage.
It has been proved that, mineral makeup powders, if inhaled can cause carcinogenic lung disorders. So just be careful of where you get your products from. Trust only the trustworthy brands.
